While many varieties of coffee are grown throughout different parts of the world, in Ethiopia, most coffee is known as “heirloom” variety. This is because coffee grown in Ethiopia is largely undocumented, and the word "heirloom" best describes the uncultivated nature of the coffee. This origin is considered to be the genetic birthplace of Arabica coffee.
