Remote Roastery

What is it?

Do you want to source your own green and establish relationships with suppliers but don’t necessarily want to roast it yourself? With Roasting Studio’s Remote Roastery option, you are in control of what coffee gets roasted, managing stock levels and forecasting. With our help, you’ll give feedback on the roasts and change them to be exactly as you like it. Coffee is roasted as you order it and delivered in plain packaged tubs. With this option you’re ordering a batch of coffee (the amount of coffee that goes into the roasting machine at the start of the roast). This is a great option for if you would like to gain experience in sourcing your own green coffee.

Alex owns the new local restaurant Beans ’n’ Beans. Their restaurant has a strong focus on farm to table dining and they’ve decided to take control over the coffee they put through their espresso machine. Alex knows a lot about flavour, but very little about coffee. With the help of Roasting Studio’s network, Alex organises samples from green suppliers to taste. Once the coffee is decided upon Alex places an order directly with the green supplier. After a few trial roast batches, Alex decides on the profile that best suits their business and the profile is set.  They are fully in control of what coffee goes through the roaster, and how it is roasted- they just aren’t the one who roasts it. Each week Alex places an order for one roast of their coffee* through the Roasting Studio online portal, which is delivered in plain package tubs. Alex is responsible for ordering green coffee and communicates with Roasting Studio staff for any changes that they want done to the roast. Alex is responsible for organising their own retail packaging if retail is an avenue they wish to pursue.
